Campana's Ristorante York UKCampana's Ristorante York UK
Campana's Ristorante York UK The restaurant is a grade two listed building and used to be Dodsworth & Sturdy electrical shop. The lease was taken in 1984 by an Italian chef and his partner who was Matera Dee.

There are two main restaurant areas, a listed wood panelled area (ideal for small parties up to 24) which used to be Dodsworths offices and the main restaurant (formally the garden at the rear of the shop) which is very light due to the large centre glass roof.
This also has views to the open kitchen where diners can see our Italian chefs prepare their meals. It has been said by a physic medium that the building is haunted but to date I have only heard strange noises (I hope this is not tempting providence).

The restaurant was sold in 1998 after the partnership was dissolved and purchased by a pastry chef who shall remain nameless. After the sale trade went on a steady decline until it was sold to me on 4th December 2006.

Following refurbishment the restaurant was reopened on 28th December 2006 and trade has steadily increased week after week. It is back to an Italian restaurant with Italian staff in key rolls.
